From telegraph to satellite

This exhibition illustrates, through postal materials, the evolution of communication.

The travel starts with the biblical phrase “What Hath God Wrought!” or rather the first experimental telegraphic message sent by Samuel Morse from Washington DC to Baltimore that marked the birth of real-time communication in a tangible way.

From industrial archeology and the telecommunications equipment of the late 1800s, this ride in time comes to the present day with satellite communications in continuous evolution.

The initiative is aimed primarily at new generations to stimulate an interest in the principles of telecommunications, which remain today at the basis of the most advanced technologies, as well as their curiosity for these strange and obsolete objects.
