ARS. Arts, Relationships, Sciences

The focus of ARS, itinerant and cross-media festival, is all about the dialogue between art and science and the ideas and transformations that follow, reflecting upon some of the themes that the international science community considers to be the most impactful for our future: climate change, energy, personal medicine, artificial intelligenxe, health of the seas and oceans, origins of the universe, role of women in science.

The events of ARS will take place in difference cities and towns, in Friuli Venezia Giulia and abroad, in a dialogue with countries and communities that involves the cooperation of important art, theatre and multimedia festivals, in accord to the title of the projects “arts, relationships, sciences”.

30th July 2020, 9.30 pm, Turriaco, ALL YOU CAN HITLER – Show

Deal with the consequences of the unbalanced relationship between man and nature, West and Third World, starting from the dire situation of Kiribati, the first Country facing the possibility of being wiped off the maps due to humanity’s intervention in nature.

Followed by a meeting with Alice Piciocchi, author of Kiribati. Cronache illustrate da una terra (s)perduta.

 

30th July – 1st August 2020, 10.00 pm, Turriaco, BOLL – IO E LORO – Multimedia Installation

In this interactive installation different people can simultaneously create abstract shapes  on a screen using their bodies and gestures, stepping into the multitude of things that surround the self.

7th August 2020, 10.00 pm, Capriva del Friuli, STRAW IN THE WIND – Show

The wind has always been considered a symbol of change and transformation, but it can also become a metaphor for our relationship with nature. The crisis of that relationship and the need to rebuild it are the themes of “A Straw In the Wind”, a live performance between science and poetry, between documentary and experimentation, through video screenings of interviews and electronic music.

 

8th August 2020, 9.30 pm, Capriva del Friuli, ALL YOU CAN HITLER – Show

All you can Hitler is a take on the consequences of the unbalanced relationship between man and nature, West and Third World, starting from the dire situation of Kiribati, the first Country facing the possibility of being wiped off the maps due to humanity’s intervention in nature.

7th September 2020, 7.00 pm, Gradisca D’Isonzo, D.A.K.I.N.I SUIT(E) – Interactive dance

In the interactive performance D.A.K.I.N.I SUIT(E) a motion capture suit is used to create a virtual projection of the body of the performer, which becomes alive through 3D animation, creating a dialogue between real and digital identity.

 

7th September 2020, 7.00 pm, Gradisca D’Isonzo, REDUPLICANTS – Multimedia Dance

REDUPLICANTS is a multimedia dance performance inspired by the Light Cone, graphic representation of the space-time by the mathematician Minkowski in which all causes and consequences of a present action are shown. In the performance the subjects’ motions are registered on a fourth holographic wall, and by following sound they can react to their past actions and foresee future ones.
