The role of science for a sustainable future
What paths can science suggest to face major challenges like climate change, overpopulation, algorithmic domination and the growing demand of resources to feed the planet? What are the most viable options and the most promising visions that scientific research can provide?
These critical themes will be explored in the conference “The role of science for a sustainable future“, which will take place at Teatro Nuovo Giovanni da Udine (Udine) on Friday 18th Semptember 2020 from 6.00 pm to 7.15 pm. Sergio Cecotti (SISSA — International School for Advanced Studies) and Michele Morgante (University of Udine), a theoretical physicist and a geneticist, both internationally established scientists, will try to tackle these questions from different perspectives, with a common goal: demonstrating the necessary role of science in building a sustainable future.
The conference, moderated by scientific journalist Simona Regina, will open with an introduction by Stefano Fantoni (Champion of ESOF2020 Trieste) and Roberto Pinton (Magnifico Rettore of the University of Udine). The event is free of charge but booking is required, to book visit this page.
