Marcello Dudovich (1878-1962). Photography between Art and Passion
The stables of the Miramare Castle will host the exhibition “MARCELLO DUDOVICH (1878 – 1972) photography between art and passion”, a tribute to the famous artist from Trieste, master of graphic art, advertising communication and witness of an era.
Overall, the exhibition itinerary offers a thrust on the system and the relationship between the use of photography in the poster and advertising representation that has so far remained unrecognized.
On display over 300 works, including 200 unpublished vintage photographs, 32 original posters, 25 sketches, as well as magazines, letters, postcards and documents from important public and private collections, such as the National Salce Collection Museum of Treviso, the Civic Collection of prints “Achille Bertarelli” and the Civic Museum Revoltella, the Campari Gallery of Sesto San Giovanni and many others, in an installation followed by Fabio Tonzar on behalf of the Miramare Museum.
The large retrospective, commissioned by the Director of the Miramare Museum Andreina Contessa, is curated by Roberto Curci and Nicoletta Ossanna Cavadini, in collaboration with the m.a.x. museum of Chiasso. The exhibition boasts important loans that come from state galleries and collections as well as from numerous private collectors, including Salvatore Galati and Alessandro Bellenda.
The opening hours are: every day from 11:00 AM to 01:00 PM and from 02:00 AM to 07:00 PM (last admission 30 minutes before closing).
