Both Ways: Art & Science from Central Eastern Europe

Five pairs of art curators and science communicators, from five countries in Central Eastern Europe, reflect on how art and science contribute, in different ways, to the production of knowledge. The name “Both Ways” was designed to highlight the contribution that only apparently distant ways of thinking give, with different methods, to the production of knowledge.

This is how five art&science projects are born, culminating in a multicenter review of contemporary European art co-curated by the two groups of experts in art and science. The projects will be connected in both a material and in an immaterial way in the Science in the City Festival. How will this happen? It will be a surprise!

Among the participants: The Center for the Promotion of Science in Belgrade, the Ludwig Museum in Budapest, the Scientifica NGO and the Cluj Cultural Center in Cluj-Napoca, the University of Rijeka, the Academy of Applied Arts and the Rijeka Science Festival.

Promoters of the initiative: the InCE (Central European Initiative), the FIT (International Trieste Foundation) and Trieste Contemporanea.
